Erie Police Department Minimize

Attention Residents, Scam Alert!!!

The Police Department has been flooded with concerned citizens calling and reporting phone scams.  I am advising people not to give money out to anyone calling and asking for money.  I am also warning people not to give out any personal information over the phone.  A lot of times scammers are calling to see if anyone is home, or they will tell you that you won a prize and want to know when they can deliver it.  They are doing this to see when they can stop by and break in to your house.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Remember, nothing is Free.  If you think you are being scammed, call us at the Police Department and we will see if we can help.  734-848-4082  Remember folks to keep an eye on each other.  If you see something suspicious, please call Central Dispatch in Monroe at 734-243-7070 or dial 911.
